From Nobodies to MIGHTY KINGS

by Faustin .M. Ndikumana February 19, 2010

Introduction

Revelation 1 gives us an ultimate and a powerful message on Jesus Christ. It is a revelation of Jesus Christ which his Father the God of heavens and earth gave him to show us what must soon take place (Rev 1:1).

The same book “revelation” goes further, giving us an ultimatum of how Jesus, the almighty one, is coming back with the clouds and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him and all people of the earth will mourn because of him. So shall it be! Amen (Verse 7). He is the Alpha and Omega, “the one who is, and who was, and who is to come, the almighty” (Verse8).

The Concise Oxford Dictionary defines “KING” as hereditary ruler of an independent State. In the second hand, the web defines “Nobody” as a person of no influence.

1 .A difference between Nobody in God’s Sight and in the world's eyes

In real terms, the world has given low credit to those who are seen as outcasts in societies where the rich and the powerful are decision makers. Revolutions have replaced other revolutions in fight for the well-being of the under-privileged ones, but none of these have been able to meet the needs of so called Nobodies in real terms! We have heard, seen on the big screens and learned in our schools about the bad that has come into our societies but none of this that has been able to realistically answer the question!

Being Honest and Frank, the answer to the question is only Jesus Christ. Women and Men of God have done great and are still doing great things to bring forth what our LORD JESUS CHRIST is about to accomplish. We have heard about many great human beings who have dedicated their lives to the cause of Cross. They have really gone extra miles in foreign lands extending the Kingdom of God for good. Some have lost their lives for this cause, therefore His Kingdom will never end and those who are seen, treated as Nobodies in the eyes of the world will become heirs of the Kingdom of God.

The Gospel in Matthew 5 gives us an account about the blessed ones. The poor in Spirit, the mourners, the meek, the hungry and thirsty for righteousness, the merciful, the pure in heart, the peace makers, those who are persecuted…all of these are going to inherit the Kingdom of God. Why then focus on Nobodies? In many places around the world, many are treated as Nobodies! But let me challenge you that you are not to hold to such KIND of belief! It is your time to say No to nobody name and say Yes to the name of Jesus Christ because you CAN in the name of JESUS Christ the only King and Ruler above all.

2.Men as Mighty kings

Revelation 1:5-6 “……and hath made us kings and priests unto God and the Father” (KJV). This was once a designation to Israel, but now it is applied to us, the Church of Jesus Christ (1Peter 2:5, 9). NIV translation puts it like this “…and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve his God and Father”. Therefore we are not to keep going backward where our Past have no value! Rather, we are challenged to move forward and leave our past behind because "We have Christ in us" . We belong to a holy nation, a loyal priesthood, a Kingdom of God.

To be a king in this Kingdom of God does not merely mean to rule over a state, a group of people or become like the last King of Scotland..! It is more than that. It is to serve our king of kings. We read in Genesis how God gave responsibility to the first man he created. He made him a Ruler of a territory and gave him dominion over everything he created. As we have already outlined, the Concise Oxford Dictionary makes it clear. It defines King as a hereditary ruler of an independent State (the one who play, act the King), he governs and controls.

For sure, the earth and everything in it belongs to God. It very important know why God chose man to oversee, rule, control, govern all that He has made and created. God knew and He knows what Kind of man he has created. He created someone like him, someone who would take control, act like a king in God’s Kingdom. Sadly, man failed to become a real King who would represent a real God!

Throughout Old Testament we grasp some powerful accounts about a God who punished the failing Kings and about a God who blessed the good ones (Kings, Representatives, Governors…) who have been good stewards. Something wonderful, it is that God always care. His Grace is available to the man he created in his image. It is important to understand that God’s dream for mankind was one (A man who would look after what He has created, a man who would act as a good King, a good Governor, a good Ruler and a good Representative under his Master who is the Supreme Ruler).

We have had great histories of some persons who can be described as Nobodies in the world’s eyes and who have been used by God to carry out his purpose. As the web puts it, these were seen as people of no influence! but God used them no matter what failure they encountered. They failed God but God never gave up with them (look at the Patriarchs and all children of Israel)!

3. Jesus Christ, the Ruler and King of kings on earth

The book of Revelation is one of the powerful books of the Bible! Not because many preachers don’t like to talk about it or because it is the last book of the Bible. The Book or revelation gives us some powerful revelation about a God-Man behind the CROSS "JESUS CHRIST " and his powerful message to his CHURCH.

Many people, including some in churches have been misusing the name of JESUS CHRIST. In Revelation 1:5-6, the word of God declares that our God has made us Kings and Priests unto God the Father. Therefore, we are his spiritual representatives on earth.

We must give a careful thought to our ways. If God is giving us King title as it is proved in his Word, what is going on in our world? Are we really living as real Kings! I don’t mean here to become kings over states such as Rwanda, USA, UK, R S A , FRANCE, AUSTRALIA ...but as spiritual kings who are representing God’s Kingdom on earth.

We truly know how people failed their creator. They failed to act like real spiritual kings who represent a spiritual God in his Kingdom. We need to wake up and start acting as true God’s representatives.2Peter9-10 “but you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God, once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy”.

Peter makes it clear that “sometimes ago, we were not people”! Many of us were called and treated as Nobodies, but now we are people and above all, we are Kings in God’s kingdom. We represent God our Father who has revealed himself to us through his Son Jesus Christ, the author and finisher of our Faith.

We see kingdoms and nations falling down and rising up and, Disgusting evil things that are taking place in these kingdoms seem to be the work of Satan, the evil one. Also,Can we truly say that God is behind these things that are happening? Sometimes God uses the sinful acts of men to accomplish his purposes. We have heard, seen, experienced Genocides (Rwanda,Nazis-Jews..), massacres, earthquakes…and we still believe that God knew what is and what was going on!But we don’t really know why he didn't stop it?

We see God working throughout history in a powerful way, accomplishing his purposes. Some accounts can be taken from the first day God started Creating everything that exists to today. We have learned how God worked through the Patriarchs and his chosen ones (Israelites) taking them from the desert lands to their promised land . This has not been an easy journey! Some of God's people had to die on their way home(Promise Land)! Most important is that God knew what was and what is happening in our midst and he will, for sure he will fulfill his promises.

God is a God of Time because Time is God’s powerful business. As mighty kings who once were not people, we need to be patient always waiting upon God. He
won’t fail us!. Life is not always perfect or Cream and Honey as many like to call it! Rather, we must become tough for God’s purposes in order to defeat the enemy. We represent a powerful God who has made us Kings and Princes in his Kingdom.

Myself, I didn’t know my Biological Dad who was killed, chopped and butchered into pieces when I was 5 years old. From that time, my Mom and Dad divorced when I was almost 2 years old. I grew up with my grand parents and, Dad would visit us but I didn’t develop a good relationship with him.

Have Been born from a Father who was married to other 2 different wives was a total disaster. I and my sister we loved our siblings and we all made 16 kids (all in total) and we are best friends!Born in Rwanda was an extra challenge but all good for God's purposes! An amazing thing is that God has always been on my side building me with a Kind of Love I never thought I will have towards my whole family and those who abused me.

Serving more than Eight years away from my homeland is quite much not to take for granted. By meeting and praying with many people who have lost their loved ones, I still believe that God is for us and the enemy is defeated in Jesus's name.
